youth exchange - “Creativity in Peace - Building” took place place in sea resort of Georgia - Kobuleti,
between 15-22 October, 2012.The project duration was 8 days (including
arrival and departure), gathered 40 young people from 8 post Soviet Union and
ex-communist countries, from EU and EECA: Romania, Latvia, Georgia, Azerbaijan,
Czech Republic, Ukraine, Portugal and Russia.
The learning
methods were through non-formal and in-formal education.We used various
activities, such as: group discussion/presentations, role-plays, intercultural
evenings, team-building activities, peaceful demonstration involving local
communities and other creative activities.
An efficient partnership and shared responsibilities
made this project successful. All partners were working together on the all
stages of the project reporting to each other the progress in the areas they
were responsible for.
The main responsibility of the applicant organization
was putting the application together with the help of their partners and
communication with the National Agency.
The hosting organization main responsibility was local
arrangements of the facilitation, accommodation, food and transportation.
Both applicant and hosting organizations were working
with partners before the beginning of the project to ensure that all
participants and sending organizations were informed about the aims and
objectives of the Youth Exchange.
There were some more important activities, like as “public demonstarion” in the city center of Batumi. Participants were spreading little brochures about youth in action program and EVS in particular. They made flashmob and other different activities.
Excursion in old capital of Georgia was very useful to find out historical heritage of hosting country. Other participants also had chance to present there culture and traditions during cultural evenings, which was held every night during the whole project.
Other important part was visiting school during project, it was old school, and there have never been foreigners, children, studying there had seen and met them first time in their life and it was one of the unforgettable moment in their life.
It was very useful project according to the feedback of participants. All of them where happy that they have learned how much they can do for there society.
